I recently bought a Trail Camera for our property due to we've had over 8-9 different bears come upon our property eating the food we throw out for the squirrels and deer. We've tried taking pictures in the past but to no avail we couldn't get enough light at night time to get a good picture. Thank goodness I found the solution on buying one of these trail cameras to setup to capture with infrared!

Here are a few pictures just from last night it had taken i was surprised how good the quality is!

    Racoon shows up

    Opossum then shows up

Anyways hopefully one of the bears come around sometime this week i'll throw more pictures up in a few days when I have time to check the SD card. Hope you guys enjoy the wild life like myself it's always been neat to watch animals in the wild!

I contemplated adding it to your post after photo shopping it to make it look like you posted it as a joke;). Yes i got it off the net so it's not mine. We have some land and a few bears do cross there along with turkeys, deer, and coyotes. How long do the batteries before you need to replace/recharge them? Curious to see what you end up capturing.

Well the reason I got into it is because mainly our neighbor has like 4-5 of them set up along his property and he owns a good bit of land i believe like 17 acres. However we only own about 6-8 acres atm we're working on extending our property soon. But I got the same camera as he uses "Primos ultra 35" Which he said he buys the Energizer Lithium batteries and gets about almost a month out of them before having to replace them. I've had mine hooked up for just a day and when I went out to check the SD card this evening for the first time i still had 99% battery life and the camera had taken 72 photos already most were damn birds flying around LOL but hey that's a lot already and hasn't even dented in the battery life.

We've bought this property around 5 years ago now and I've seen White Tail Deer/ Brown/Black Bears/ Turkey/ Coyotes/Mountain Lion far as the biggest animals anyways

So here is an update of the Trail camera for you guys to enjoy! It's definitely a laugh as well!

last night I ran down to our shed and i had put a full size Cake out and a box of donuts in front of the camera hoping to draw the bears back in since they love sweets!

So this morning I wake up and i'm eating breakfast and my phone rings here it's my father. He says, i believe the bear was down at the shed the logs are licked clean. I then thought to myself hm its only been a week though i should just let it down there another week. My gut was just like don't bother let it be. Instead i went with what my father said though and went grabbed the SD card and came up threw it inside the labtop and began to look through 3,000 pictures it had taken in a week! Anyways I found some really good ones it had taken and wanted to share with my parents though I was sadden the bears actually haven't shown up at all this week. I throw the pictures up on there TV through a SD Card USB reader since there TV has a USB port. After words I asked my father too go down with me to turn the camera a bit facing the logs more to get better pictures. This is when it gets good!

We go to walk down towards the back of our shed near the bank to put the SD card back into the game camera etc and we hear a Bang Crash Snap and rocks sliding. My father was like whoa whatever that was it had to of been huge. So out of curiosity we weren't thinking we ran towards the bank to look down over too see what it was now the bank is like a 80-90 foot drop at a decent angle. I look down and I didn't see anything at first then out of the corner of my eye i see a head move and then boom glowing eyes shining right at me so I was like OH ITS A BEAR! and I look over my shoulder and DAMN I never seen my father move so fast he was gone! He was running towards his house LOL i couldn't stop laughing but i slowly walked backwards still facing the bank till i past out shed then turned around and just walked up to my deck of my house and waited. I was soooooo pissed though that i couldn't put that SD CARD in go figure the night i take it out to check it the night he shows up. Anyways since it was bright daylight still I got some with my phone to share with you guys. Though the Game camera would of been way better as he literally went up and sniffed at the camera like 2-3 times. We're pretty sure he'll be back tomorrow night though as he looked a bit hungry. We recently had alot of rain here in Pennsylvania from that huge storm that ran through so our rivers flooded up so i'm sure he was stuck and couldn't make it places really to get food.

I'm still laughing wish i had a camera too actually film my father LOL. Anyways here are a few of the decent pictures I had gotten otherwise. I have over 3k pictures but these are the best imo.

    Some Squirrels having some fun

    Blue Jay flying away
    [IMG]

Mr Raccoon came back for more food
    [IMG]

    Black Hawk flying away
    [IMG]

Now this picture is from our deck so it's pretty far distance so not the best of the black bear
    [IMG]

Now this one I went down infront of the shed so was about 20 feet from him i took it quick and gently walked away
    [IMG]

Another from the shed a few minutes later when i knew he was eating and not paying attention

people think bears are dangerous cause you hear on the news about attacks. It's not really the bears it's us humans. Every attack you hear on the news there always a story on why it had happen. For example there was a recent bear attack last month in Florida a lady walked outside and got attacked by bears that were getting into trash cans looking for food (that's what you heard on the news when it first happened) A few days later they interviewed her in the hospital and the lady admitted it was her fault she wasn't thinking before reacting. She had two kids down the street riding on bikes when she walked outside and seen the bears she got scared and started yelling for her kids down the street to come home and get inside. Instead of yelling (taunting the bears) why didn't she just not been lazy and quietly walked down the street and got her kids and brought them home safely.

Anyways people just don't know how to act or how to be around wild animals and wonder why they get attacked etc. My neighbor owns around 300-400 acres of land here around us pretty much and he is the one we learned that bears were around here. He had a deal with Hershey Chocolate Factory that all there disapproved product like tubs of peanut butter/chocolate/peanuts/ anything they couldn't sell and got rejected from the product line he would buy for a cheap price and he had blue barrels in his basement he was mixing all them together and putting them inside hollowed out logs to sit all over his property. He called us one time and asked us to come over to see a bear that was literally 10 feet from his front door eating what he just had put out. We went over and i literally was able to get so close that i could of reached out and touched his rear end but he was eating so i didn't bother obviously to get that brave or that stupid. He had over 7-8 different bears that came around his property.

The main reason I bring this up is because my neighbor was walking his property once putting food out and he ran among a mother in 2 cubs and he was like 5 feet from her he said and all he did was look at her in the eyes and said i'll go my way and you go your way i don't want no trouble and then he just looked away and walked slowly away from them and that's it. Like I said people just don't know how to act around them or they panic quickly and/or do sudden movements.

I know it's been a while since i last updated i finally went and got my camera card out and found that the bear came by some morning apparently. Was surprised cause we haven't seen him around in weeks. We thought maybe someone shot him out of season or something like that.

Anyways Here's a few pictures that i've so far seen on the camera. There was over 20k pictures so might take me a while to look at them all.

That's actually the same one as before. That's also what i said surprised me how skinny he looked but my father informed me people often think bears are very fat, but actually they have a lot more fur then you would think.

I have ran into thousands of pictures of deer finally after we went and bought a corn block, mineral blocks, and then put up a pvc-pipe tray of corn. So far after viewing the thousands of pictures I have only ran into a 4 point buck and a 6 point (6 point still in velvet). Tons of fawns and does.

It's about that time I hung my camera back up a few weeks ago. I went out and grabbed the camera card to check it because when I went down to my garage yesterday evening I seen a pile of black, walked over to find out it was Bear shit and it was the size of my fist.

He's apparently been coming around since the 9th again. Great too see no one got him during bear season.
