The value of sprays on gameplay

Vgamers is a great place to play but the question is do sprays add to the experience or take away from it?
There are clan servers, a good example being lotus, that have disabled sprays. The reason behind this is that sprays do not add to the game experience but rather serve to distract or harass players. Also many players do not use sprays and when they do its not about the game. Since they don't help with the experience I am suggesting that Vgamers disable sprays on all of their servers.

 

You can disable sprays in your own settings. I see no need to disable sprays across all our servers. Most sprays do not detract from the fun of playing, and personally, I use my spray to advertise the community and our forums.

 

Your argument makes sense if you're on another server, then you would be promoting the vgamer's community. But if you are on a vgamer's server, people know that they are on a vgamer server. So I would argue the use of a "vgamer's spray" on a vgamer's server is redundant. In addition, what about the many sprays that don't promote the vgamer's community or its values that get sprayed and placed on its servers?

 

Again, if the sprays are a problem for whomever they can easily disable them in console while playing in our servers. I personally have a habit of spraying mine no matter what server I'm in and I enjoy having sprays.

My spray basically explains my name since people see my name and are confused by it so it helps.

 

Khan makes the point of supporting the VGamers community, which should be an important objective of a community manager and any member of the VGamers community. I have been to many different TF2 servers and on some of the servers the ability to place sprays is a "membership benefit" for VIPs. That is a win-win suggestion because players directly support the VGamers community and help maintain and expand the servers they enjoy and have the ability to express themselves as they play through the use of their sprays. I encourage VGamers to make the use of sprays a VIP membership benefit!

 

That's taking away a standard feature of the game and putting a price tag on it. It doesn't seem to me like that would go over well.

Also, a bit of redundancy is important in advertisement. Most people don't know about our community or forums; providing one more sign is a good thing.
