We had a issue occur today and something came to mind about the new Castle Doctrine Law.

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about this law as I have a few questions and concerns about it.

You can read the "Stand Your Ground" statute here. It's not that long.

Thanks Khan, to be honest when I read that shit I get confused on certain things on how they word it.

My main question was if someone steps onto my front porch and I ask them to leave and they don't am I allowed to use deadly force?

It all seems pretty straightforward and reasonable to me, it just takes a bit of time to parse it from legal terminology into the kind of language we normally use.

In your theoretical case, you would have no justification for lethal force. You have the right to use lethal force only "if such force is necessary to protect [yourself] against death, serious bodily injury, kidnapping or sexual intercourse compelled by force or threat." You can't kill someone without a damn good reason, and you have not indicated in the wording of your case that there was any real threat from the person who entered your property.

Oh well it was just a curious and typical question lol it wasn't meant to sound like I actually wanted to shoot someone or anything like that.

Anyways thanks for clarifying that for me.
