Why is taunting after a kill so highly disliked?(Yes I'm being serious about this topic)

I'm not talking about tf2, I mean all multiplayer games in general, I believe it's probably due to how the initial response is to be pissed off and the player makes a bad decision causing a loss of focus.

 

Taunting has been in multiplayer since the dawn of time (Quake anyone?). Just like trash talking in any sport, it exists to piss off players and mess with their head and that is probably why some people don't like it. I think it seems to be mostly disliked by younger crowds, and video games attract young crowds, thus we get a sea of upset from taunts. Just my 2

 

I find it funny when someone does it. I was playing overwatch with my friend the other day, and we were watching a sick team kill POTG, and at the end the Reaper sprayed his spray and did the crouchy-crouch to taunt the other team. meanwhile the other team was raging at us in chat...

 

I think it's hilarious when people taunt and are promptly destroyed since they are immobile

That's actually how I improved my words per minute by a lot. I got into CS:S when it was still in beta, and at the time didn't have a headset with a mic, so if I wanted to talk shit (and I love me some shit talking ^.^) I had to either type really fast, or die.

I think as long as ya keep it 'friendly' a little trash talking is all part of the game. Otherwise you might as well just be playing bots

My moto regarding this ever since I was a tryhard free to play- "taunting kills".

 

Well after you kill someone they are already kinda ticked, especially if they think they are good or better than you. Then when you taunt they flip shit because of the ego

 

Its like shitting on someone when they are already down. Insult to injury.
