Anyone else think this was some kind of out of season April Fools joke? What a terrible set of decisions in my opinion. They are doing the same thing that killed Team Fortress 2 when it went free to play

    Inventory:

Yeah a ton of people are going to be playing it now. Micro transactions, items, and trading are their main source of revenue.

Yeah, I watched Shroud play the New CS BR on twitch and that shit looks incredibly clunky and dumb. Very bad decision on their part imo. Shroud even stated that there are now going to be tons more cheats being made and used.

When Team Fortress 2 went free to play there was a swarm of more players in the game but it was never the same game. CS:GO isn't welcoming enough to new players for it to benefit much from being free to play I think. The players that do play will quickly leave for other games they are more familiar with or who have a better reputation in the battle royale genre. It's an old game trying to stay relevant just like old dads in white sketchers. As a consumer you have to ask yourself "Why would I play CS:GO BR over this game or that game?" and there are many reasons to play other BR games over CS:GO and that's coming from someone who has played the game so you already have a head start on the mechanics. New players won't stay, I think.
