HnS server ideas (AND 1 BUG - DOUBLE PROP)

  1. Here's some thoughts I had.

    - Aimable poofs. Back when I played HnS on HG, before it became one big troll-fest, you could jump and thus aim your poof at the crosshair instead of at your feet.

    - A little less speed for T's. Currently, the temptation to start juking instead of hiding is really big.. The speed difference between CT's and T's is a liiiiiiittle too much I think. Maybe make the first 30 seconds (hiding time) have T's running as fast as now, and after, a little less fast? Any admins care to post the current settings? Curious as to what they are anyways.

    - More levels. Always good!

    - A separate "level specific" prop menu. On some maps I'm really missing a few props. Things like big rocks on militia or survivor. A couple of others. Of course, now I'm typing this up, none other spring to mind. Of course.


    And my bug report - there's a double prop in the menu. Under menu 5 - Large Outdoor Objects. "Concrete bags" and "Concrete bag stack" are the same thing ;)

    i agree and i think a t should get one knife aty the ct to make it more interesting
     
  3. OH OH OH OH yeah, I forgot, there should be a "Massive Items" menu for epic lolz. Grain Silo, Water Tower, those kinds of things. I'll look around on maps we play for more examples. There's also some spots on some maps where you can actually hide as them quite well.
     
  4. AND OMG I FORGOT SOMETHING AGAIN. Double jump. So much yes.

    I first thought for T's only, but that would - 'specially with the extra running speed already there - make them too agile. Giving it to CT's also would even that out and make it feel really cool to play CT, like you're a hunter predator stalking your prey ;)

    Aimable Poofs: Could be done easily, I would have to rewrite the poof plugin though. Stanger can put his two cents in for this one.

    Hiders Speed: I agree the hiders are a bit fast and they could be reduced. This would take a whole 2 seconds, just a quick config change.

    More Levels: Yeah I have about 45+ maps currently for the server. Its always difficult to find good HNS maps. You are welcome to search for some and if you find any good ones just post them in the Hide and Seek board. I'll then check them out and if there good I'll put them on the server!

    Level Specific Prop Menu: This would be a no go as our whole draw for the server is our extensive prop menu. Limiting the props for each level would contradict that. If there are props you would like added, get the model path and post it in the Hide and Seek board, I'll add them in the prop menu!

    Speed is kind of high for t's

    where do i look for maps anyways since gamebanana isnt around anymore
     
  8. I didn't mean level specific prop menu, period. I meant, add 1 extra sub-menu for some that fit in with the level but might not be in the main menu.. But thinking about it, it might be better / easier / faster if I just think of a few good props to add to the existing menus :p

    If we slow the T's then you are surely going to get killed if found. Wouldn't be an issue if we didn't have everyone running around as a keyboard.

    Aimable poofs would certainly be interesting and giving a few hints and plenty for shenanigans.

    Gotcha does have a point that when everyone becomes a keyboard its kinda hard to hit (even though hitboxes stay the same). I personally think speed should be reduced for the hiders so incidents like running around being a keyboard can be avoid (or at least easier to hit people).

    Hiders speed has been reduced.. When I get time I'll work on the aimable poofs and fixing the double in the prop menu!
