How Come TF2 Always gets Compared to Overwatch, but never to PVZ:GW?

So as you probably know Overwatch it dubbed "Next Team Fortress" or "Team Fortress 3" or "Half Life 3" but when PVZ: Garden Warfare came out little to nobody compared it to TF2.. How come? I mean both games rely on classes and just take a look at how similar they are:

TF2|PVZ:GW
Scout|Peashooter
Sniper|Cactus
Spy|Chomper
Medic|Sunflower/Scientist
Soldier|Foot Soldier
Engineer|Engineer (duh..)
Heavy|All-Star

Not all of the classes have PVZ counter-parts but the list is quite similar. Also Garden Warfare has a similar visual style that both TF2 and Overwatch have. The only BIG difference is the perspective, in TF2/Overwatch it is an FPS and Garden Warfare is a TPS. In my opinion Garden Warfare is one of the best games TF2 could be compared to (not counting Overwatch) and I am surprised how it was not by many. So why do you think so?
