Map rotation

Discussion in 'Servers & Website Suggestions' started by NeMeSiS_PrOjEcT, Nov 16, 2014.

  1. I think the weekends would be a good time to start rotating maps for achievements for new players, maps like snakewater and foundry. Say after 3 normal rounds of the current maps, rotate out a new map. Add some variety to the servers.

I'm up for starting up a Rotation server if enough people would play it. I wouldn't want to change our 24/7 servers around.

  3. Woody, I'm thinking that might attract new players and allow them to have a more fun experience, the way TF2 was originally, but use maps that most people need to get achievements.

Correct, I agree to this. There are tons of new players that always are looking to finish there achievements. I've seen good things from rotation servers as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

What maps would be good for a rotation server for achievements?

  6. Snakewater and Foundry are two that I can think of, I also think adding some of the original maps would be a start, and Sawmill, Well, Gorge, Hydro and Doomsday are my suggestions. I wouldn't over do it though.

Ooo.. Hydro isn't really good one in my opinion. Because either the rounds end in the first 3-5 minutes, or become an hour long stalemate. If that one is added it should be modified so there is some time limit to prevent long stalemates from happening. But it may be a plus too, I see VERY LITTLE servers playing this map, and even less servers that even has ONE player. Meaning it isn't very popular and not many servers play it.
