Detailed Explanation with Screenshots/Demos::

This afternoon I noticed a player on the Turbine server with an unauthorized (and incorrect) VG clan tag. Screenshot of his profile below. I have seen him play on the server a decent amount in the past, so I am going to attempt to add him and let him know that he needs to remove the tag and apply to become a member before action is taken against him.

Please give me until 10:00 UTC on Sunday, September 14th, to contact him and let him know what needs to happen for him to use the - \/G - tag. If the issue isn't resolved by that time, I leave him to you.

Profile is set to private so am unable to contact him via steam. Let him know in game if possible and better yet have him apply for our community if he wants to represent us.

 

For people that use our tag and are not a part of the community I usually just use console by "sm_rename "playername" "new name" and I just take our tag off then send them an admin message stating if he wishes to join our community please apply on our community forums.

That's how I do it anyways as i've tried adding in the past and they usually just never add me or deny my request.

 

He accepted my request and I had a chance to talk with him just now. I directed him to the website and gave him the information he needed to apply to become part of our community. He seems like he just didn't know the process involved. He has removed the tag, and he'll probably be applying soon.

I was pretty hopeful this would be the outcome of the situation. I am quite well known to players on the Turbine server, so players that frequent the server are usually fairly responsive to me.

Good to know, that explains why the tag was already gone when I talked to him. Did you also direct him to the forums?
