SushiPaste has played on our Turbine server off and on for a few months. Every time he plays, he makes the server less fun to play on. Whenever he is killed, he complains or accuses the other player of hacking in some way or other. Tonight he joined the server while I was on, and after a while I got tired of his repetitive smack talk and complaining. Other people on the server were getting tired of it too and asked me to do something about it.

I warned him that if he didn't cut the smack talk, I would gag him. He didn't, I did. I decided to gag him for 30 minutes. He stayed on the server and continued to complain through changing his username (I should have simply changed his username back to SushiPaste... you know what they say about hindsight).

After the 30 minutes were up (actually, after 44 minutes), he started at it again. I warned him that his ability to chat was a privilege, not a right, and that if he continued to misuse it I would simply gag him again. After a bit longer, he got tired of playing and left.

tl;dr Constant disrespect towards other players and admin, classic narcissistic teenager without regard for others, negative presence on server.

Update: I spectated the server for a little while this evening while SushiPaste was on. For a little while, at least, he was behaving himself. He did once again resort to name-calling and a few obscenities later, but it was nice to see that he was capable of behaving for some time at least.

I'm not sure that perm gag is necessary at this time, but I will continue to keep my eye on him and take further action if warranted.

 

I have already warned and muted this player in the past for the exact same thing. I hesitate to perm mute the player as he does play every day on the server but he needs to know its coming should he continue to act this way.

 

I once again issued a 30-minute gag on Sushi for his misbehavior. I warned him a few times (in case he hadn't seen before) that we were considering a perm gag on him, but he continued anyway. I take back my previous statement and agree that a perm gag may be the only way to resolve this.

 

I'll adjust his gag to perm. Let him come on here and file a protest as to why it should not be anything but perm.

 

I agree I only see issuing a perm gag to take care of it. Some just don't want to learn and it's hard to punish those that play in our server daily, but at the same time you don't want them pushing away our other community players. I am going to perm gag him for now and if the problem continues he can come to our forums and resolve anything further here. Thanks

Just checking.. did you perm gag him or perm mute him? Thread says mute.
