Server Weekly Events

We have decided to start utilizing our Vigilante Gamers steam group to send out announcements and updates. To go along with this, we want to begin having some kind of weekly events for our members to enjoy. We would like to hear everyone's ideas so we can decide on a few that we like. Keep in mind, this is not only for one server! We could have an event on Orange one week, 2Fort the next, and so on.

Really any suggestion is a good one, so throw all your ideas here and I'll add a poll to this thread once we have enough.

 

Well with Easter coming up we could hold an event for the holiday. Not exactly sure what we could do for it though...

 

We could have some kind of Easter egg hunt, I do not know how hard that would be to program, but it would be really fun.

 

Me and what do you have something planned for later. But we can't tell anyone, sorry

We could have lazytown edited so that there are eggs hidden throughout the map and you need to submit screenshots of the spots you find it in order to win a strange or something.

 

Yeah we're thinking less holiday-specific, and more repeatable. Like an event rotation we could have once a week that repeats every month.

 

Woody can we announce a big giveaway for that aussie axe Lord Fire gifted to VG soon? I'm sure he would appreciate that.

 

How hard would it be to be to add tags like [addict], but only for a specific profile, such as [#1 Sniper] or something, could hold weekend orange sniper 1v1 tourny's for the weekly title, or other stuff where the prize would be a tag for the week?

Would work like free advertising, seeing someone with an exclusive tag, but idk how any of the server stuff like that works so i'm just throwing ideas

 

I mean I would have that title for forever...No I think that's a great idea, maybe for all the classes?

 

We could set it up where per server you get that title (1 for each class) and the winner of that title gets VIP for that month, Or something like that

 

I do like that idea! How exactly would we have the competition though?

 

a community manager or perhaps myself could announce it on the VG steam group. Maby have it on a specific TF2 server or 2.
Woody if possible could you make a thing that recorded points per player per class and at he end of the week, the winner of each class gets VIP for the rest of the month. And then we can reset that counter for the next month. (Sorry quickly typing in between classes, will clarify later)

 

Ok Woody I have an idea, it just requires modifying a script not making a new one. I don't know how to explain it over text but I will be on TS tonight arround 9:15 central (I think 7:15 your time) and we can talk

 

Hm, I like the idea but instead of 1v1's can do hold team matches also. So say we do a team match on 2fort whichever team wins for the event day would win the tag and vip.

 

yea, that could be cool. I dont think it has to be anything specific, could even be something like #1 market gardener, or maybe even best outfit or spray
