when u start css (not in servers) bring up ur console and type fps_max 500 (default is 300) i personally have mine set as 2000. but i dont have to change it everytime i codes build into the game that does it automatically. But you might want to check to see what ur rates are that can cause u lag. Maybe tonight when im on i could help u out with that also there are a couple of us that would be able to help u with that too

Changing your FPS max will do absolutely nothing. With a max FPS of 300 you should never have a problem unless the map isn't optimized. I would recommend seeing what your FPS is currently and adjusting your graphic card settings to lower if need be. If you are using on-board graphics that's probably your issue and your going to want to upgrade. Also like I stated in the other topic the FPS could have nothing to do with your lag, instead it could be a number of things with your connection. I.e: Bad 'hop', bandwidth, upload speed, etc.

True, maybe it's time to stop being cheap and just build a system that is above average.
