Just curious on what home remedies people have for anything really...

For instance, I am highly allergic to poison oak, sumac, and ivy. I haven't had it for a few years now because I had been put on shot steroids for a week to get rid of it last time I had it because my whole body was covered. Anyways, the steroids stayed in my system for so long apparently. So a few days ago at work I was cutting trees down and hauling brush, the next morning I woke up covered in poison from head to toe. Yikes! So I remembered a remedy I heard years ago and figured to try it.

You take oatmeal, Baking Soda, mix it in a blender with room temperature water. It will create a past like substance kind of like tooth paste and you basically want to smear it all over your poison and let it on for a few hours. It will dry and start crumbling off your arm, but you will see that it pulled the poison out of the blisters and will dry the poison up and also the most important thing, take the itching away.

    Quantities?

I'll have to try this if I run into the stuff again. Fortunately I haven't for a couple of years, but like you I am extremely allergic to it.

Well, I have a nutribullet for juicing. I took the tall cup which is if i'm not mistaken a 24 oz one. I filled that about half way with the oats and then just added 2 tbs of baking powder and I added around 3/4 cup of water and then just blended it up. It worked wonderful, I used the back of a Tablespoon to smear it all over my arms first too see if it worked correctly. I left it on probably for 2 hours or so before it completely dried up. Afterwords I went to the sink and just took my hands and rub gently to make it all fall off my arms and then washed my arms with Dawn dish liquid which i'm not sure what's in Dawn dish liquid, but I read up online that it counter reacts the oil in poison so it doesn't spread. It took the itching away completely and dried all the blisters up except like 2 blisters left on the backside of my arm.
